Lahore, May 3: Middle-order batsman, Younus Khan and fast bowler, Umar Gul have been named in the15-member Test squad for two matches against West Indies. Both were rested for the ongoing five-match one-day international series against West Indies following Pakistan's loss in the World Cup semifinals to India.


According to Daily Times, the team will be led by Misbahul Haq who has already proved his captaincy in the Test matches after the spot-fixing scandal. The only surprise was the exclusion of Adnan Akmal, who has been the Test wicketkeeper in charge after his elder brother Kamran Akmal lost his place in spot-fixing scandal.

The series beginning on May 12 , has its first match scheduled at Guyana and the second match at St. Kitts. The Test series against Windies is Pakistan's best chance to win their first-ever Test series in the Caribbean, against a weak West Indies side.

Squad: Misbahul Haq (captain), Younus Khan, Taufiq Umar, Mohammad Hafeez, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Salman, Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Umar Akmal, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Tanvir Ahmed, Junaid Khan and Hammad Azam.

Andy Flower will stay on as the England cricket team director after he extended his contract, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Tuesday. "ECB announced that Andy Flower has renewed his contract and will continue in his current role as England team director," an ECB statement read.
"Flower will remain on a permanent contract and is currently preparing for an international summer that sees England face Sri Lanka, India and Ireland."
The 43-year-old former Zimbabwe captain, who took over from Peter Moores in January 2009, has guided England to two Ashes series victories and World Twenty20 title in 2010.
The managing director of England Cricket, Hugh Morris said that he was confident the team will continue to progress under Flower.
Yardy returns More than a month after quitting the the England team midway through the World Cup due to depression, all-rounder Michael Yardy returned to competitive cricket for his county side Sussex.

"I now intend to spend some time concentrating on my cricket and would ask that people respect my decision to focus on my performances for Sussex and continue to give me the space I need," he said.
Windies beat PakPakistan's Mohammad Hafeez made a century but West Indies restored some of their battered pride with a rain-affected win in the fourth ODI in Barbados on Monday.
Dwayne Bravo struck a six in the final over before a downpour finished off the game, giving Darren Sammy's team victory by one run through the Duckworth-Lewis scoring method.
Pakistan lead the five-match series 3-1. It is the first time West Indies have beaten a test side, other than Bangladesh, in an ODI since June 2009.
Younus in Test squadFormer Pakistan captain Younus Khan and fast bowler Umar Gul have returned to the Pakistan squad for the Test series against the West Indies, starting next week.
